Digital Marketing Specialist - Email Automation

We are adding a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team! The Digital Marketing Specialist will help develop and execute a variety of digital marketing programs with a focus on email marketing and marketing automation campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. As the Digital Marketing Specialist, you will work closely with segment marketing managers to plan, build, test, and execute email campaigns and automations. You will track and analyze campaign performance and evaluate their efficacy with a focus on driving traffic, engagement, revenue, and retention across all customer segments. The Digital Marketing Specialist will report to the Director - Digital Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Email Marketing

  • Create and execute email marketing initiatives to include coding/dynamic content; segmentation, QA/testing, compliance approval, scheduling, deployment, and campaign analysis.
  • Work with marketing team to plan and develop calendar for email campaigns.
  • Own the accuracy, updating and communication of the email marketing calendar.
  • Work with Creative team to design and develop emails.
  • Own the scheduling, approval and launch of all emails.
  • Manage all schedules, resources, and delivery dates to ensure successful delivery of email projects to meet negotiated deadlines.

Marketing Automation

  • Manage and optimize existing marketing automation campaigns and develop new campaigns based on business needs and objectives, leveraging the various "studios" within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Build Marketing Cloud Journeys following design and process guidance from SMEs.
  • Execute development and advanced configuration activities within the Marketing Cloud platform.
  • Validate solution components and provide training to internal staff when appropriate.
  • Oversee new data in Marketing Cloud and advise on data use for targeting, personalization, configuration, strategy, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Salesforce, support vendors and internal IT staff to troubleshoot and apply new features, upgrades, and patches.

Other Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze and report on email campaigns, working with stakeholders to optimize performance.
  • Ensure email campaigns follow industry policies (e.g., CAN-SPAM) as well as internal and external best practices.
  • Develop documentation of current processes and future enhancements.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices, tools, and industry trends around email marketing and marketing automation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners and email vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, advertising, or a related field; a demonstrated work experience in email marketing is required.


  • 2-3 years of experience working with email marketing communications in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Experienced in Salesforce Marketing Cloud with a desire to become Salesforce Marketing Cloud certified
  • Experience working in content management systems.
  • Solid understanding of email fundamentals (CAN-SPAM compliance, data privacy compliance, deliverability, A/B split testing, etc.) and KPIs.
  • Experience with email design and development best practices including a working familiarity with HTML and CSS.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with solid writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Solid understanding of how to analyze data to track and optimize campaign performance.
  • Team player with the ability to interact with the entire marketing team and organization stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solver who is flexible, open-minded, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects at once, and respond to changing and new projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).

Working Conditions

  • Flexibility to work in an office and/or in an at-home, remote office environment.
  • Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.

Competitive base pay starting at $60,743. Compensation is based on prior/relevant experience and skill level in a similar role.
