The Role
The Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at Genmab is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of our human capital agenda across the US Market. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can anticipate challenges, leverage data to inform decisions, and cultivate a culture of agility, innovation, and excellence.
As the Senior Director, HRBP, you will partner with leadership, HR and our broader organization to design and implement talent strategies that align with our business goals. You and the HR Director will foster an environment where top talent can excel and where our values are lived out daily.
The role is hybrid in our Princeton, NJ office. It requires being onsite 60% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with US Market to develop and execute a human capital strategy that supports business objectives and long-term growth.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage HR analytics and insights to anticipate trends, identify risks, and drive strategic decisions that enhance organizational performance and employee engagement.
- Talent Management & Development: Lead initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Implement talent management practices, including performance management, high-potential employee identification and development, internal mobility, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
- Culture & Change Management: Champion a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and high performance. Lead change management initiatives that align with the company's strategic vision and foster a resilient, adaptive workforce.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the execution of key HR processes within expected timelines. Oversee the implementation of efficient HR processes and practices that enhance the employee experience and support business objectives, ensuring compliance with global employment laws and regulations.
- Foster a Culture of Belonging and Collaboration: Champion initiatives that reflect Genmab's commitment to a respectful, inclusive, and globally-minded culture. Embed principles of equity and belonging across the employee experience, guided by our core values of Passion, Integrity, Determination, and working as One Team to ensure every colleague feels empowered to contribute to our shared purpose.
- Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing HR team. Foster a collaborative, results-oriented environment where HR professionals can grow and excel in their roles.
- Innovation in HR Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously explore new HR technologies, methodologies, and best practices to keep Genmab at the forefront of human capital management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner effectively with Centers of Excellence within HR and other key stakeholders such as IT, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Communications, and Corporate Affairs to ensure the most appropriate services and programs are developed and delivered to drive performance.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in an HR discipline or relevant certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role, including managing a team of direct reports. Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences industry is preferred.
Leadership & Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior executives and business leaders across a global, matrixed organization.
- Proven track record of driving innovation in HR practices, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data analytics, utilizing insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Expertise in leading large-scale change initiatives, aligning organizational culture with strategic objectives.
- Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, etc., is preferred.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$225,520.00 - $338,280.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
