Genmab is seeking an experienced Compound Development Team Lead (CDTL) to lead early-stage antibody product development programs. This position is a high-profile role within Genmab, accountable for driving the strategy and execution of 2-3 early-stage development programs.

As a Senior Director, Compound Development Team Lead at Genmab, you will lead cross-functional, international project teams to deliver against the program strategy. You will report to the Senior Vice President, Portfolio and Project Management & R&D Operations.

This is a hybrid position that will be based in Copenhagen, DK.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the project strategy for antibody development projects from clinical candidate selection, through preclinical development and until clinical proof-of-concept.
  • Lead Compound Development Teams (CDTs) for one to three programs at different stages, some of which can be partnered projects.
  • Champion the program(s) at all levels of Genmab by providing clear communication, creative strategic approaches to development, and the ability to influence others.
  • Build teams and maintain team effectiveness and satisfaction and lead the CDT to achieve its goals through the networks of people/functions represented on the team. When necessary, negotiate with line function heads on project deliverables.
  • Challenge all functions on the CDT to ensure that all issues and questions are being addressed, and that line function input into strategy and plans is adequate to meet the needs of the compound.
  • Identify potential issues and lead contingency planning; lead CDT problem solving and apply decision-making tools and techniques. Drive CDT to make effective and efficient decisions.
  • Lead resolution of conflict at the CDT, governance boards, joint steering committee (for a partnered compound) and senior management levels.
  • For partnered projects, act as co-chair of joint development teams with alliance partner(s) and align global strategy within a partnership, as applicable.
  • Lead the communication of strategy, issues, and plans to internal governance boards, alliance partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for overall budget and project plan deliverables.
  • Work with functional management to secure the required resources for project success, to influence optimal team composition, to align goals and objectives with CDT members, coach and guide CDT members and to provide input for performance evaluation of CDT members.
  • Continuously improving ways of working and tools, processes etc. in collaboration with stakeholders like Project and Portfolio Management

Requirements

  • A Masters degree or Post Graduate Degree (PhD) in Life Science
  • A minimum of 13 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology or life science experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of work experience as a Project Leader in biotechnology or Life Science companies.
  • You have a strong expertise within complex preclinical development and/or early clinical development projects (preferably biologics) in oncology and/or immune disorders.
  • You are an experienced Project Leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with external collaboration partners is preferred.

  • Demonstrated influence, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to influence without clear reporting authority are required.
