The Role
The Associate Director role is a unique opportunity to participate in shaping the future of the Global Procurement function by driving initiatives that enhance category management, operational excellence, scalability, cost effectiveness, and risk mitigation. You will play an essential role in ensuring that Procurement evolves into a high-performing, agile, and value-generating business partner capable of supporting Genmab's continued growth and expansion into new markets.
You will join a Global Procurement team and report to the Vice President, Global Procurement in Denmark.
Responsibilities
1. Support the Procurement Transformation & Operational Development
- Support the ongoing centralization and transformation of the Global Procurement function into an efficient, value-creating organization.
- Drive improvements in vendor and category management, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across procurement activities.
- Lead cross-functional projects that optimize company-wide procurement processes and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage expertise across the organization and ensure alignment of initiatives with enterprise objectives.
2. Build Strategic Partnerships Across the Business
- Develop into a trusted advisor and central point of contact for key stakeholders across the organization.
- Support the alignment of procurement strategies with the needs of internal functions such as R&D, Commercial, Operations, Regulatory, and other enabling functions.
- Represent Procurement in company-wide governance forums and strategic discussions.
- Partner with Finance to drive cost transparency, budget discipline, and alignment of procurement initiatives with Genmab's financial goals.
3. Drive Procurement Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Champion procurement best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement across all procurement activities.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive insights, improve decision-making, and optimize spend.
- Lead initiatives focused on process automation, digital procurement, and supply chain optimization.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Deep knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing processes.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects within global and virtual teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environment with accelerated timelines.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
