The Role:
As an emerging authority on GM's culture, business model and industry, a coordinator is a strategic advisor and administrator to functional managers to help them make sound business decisions.
Contributes and collaborates in all forms (new ideas, solutions, team calls, partnerships with colleagues and functional leaders.) Provides administrative support and improves processes. Leads and drives projects within a matrixed environment.

What You'll Do: Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor processes and tooling required by Process Control Plans (PCP's) and Tool and Equipment Bulletins (T&E). Make ongoing improvements and updates to complement PCPs and T&E.
- Construct torque process strategy list and verify year to year changes prior to SSF.
- Manage a weekly APM system download and reconcile discrepancies to ensure correct data is provided to production processes.
- Establish torque monitor routes to monitor all critical torque specifications per shift requirements, and standard care torque per monthly requirements or as needed.
- Maintain database and manage updates from process changes and tool changes (tool information, secondary checks, etc).
- Maintain Torque First Time Quality metrics (Top NOK / Key Releases).
- Provide updated torque spec information to torque monitors and production team leaders
- Provide production with weekly TFTQ and Mutilation data
- Work with Quality Requirements Lead to maintain updated and new Quality Requirements.
- Develop and provide training to keep production teams and management current with requirements.
- Support the management of the torque monitor (static torque measurement process) team to ensure processes are followed and standardized work is well defined and followed.
- Respond promptly to out-of-standard conditions in production to support containment, problem resolution, risk assessment and corrective actions. Communicate with Design and Fastening Engineers as required.
- Perform / assist correlation studies for static / dynamic torque for fasteners having an issue.
- List, Implementation of AM-1, TAY, TA1 and other strategies that support PCP and T&E and PFMEA and submit data to engineering as required.
- Review torque data daily to identify potential issues or deficiencies.
- Audit fastening processes to the defined requirements. Issue Corrective Action Reports and drive follow-up as required.
- Provide support to VAA (value added assembler) suppliers as required. Support their facility through audits and clear communications and relationships
- Support weekly EWO (Engineering Work Order) meetings
- Monitor and follow up on EWOs, TWOs (Temporary Work Orders) and PFCMs (Plant Floor Change Mgt)
- Assure proper calibrations for quality gages and torque monitor datamyte are initiated/performed to meet required maintenance plans (torque equipment, refractometers, etc)
- Proficient use of databases, information systems, tool monitoring systems with solid interpretation of data. Excel, Power Query, Power BI.
- Use of great people skills to establish solid working relationships inside and outside the plant (peers, leadership, operators, and resources)
- • Support annual Torque Corporate Audit
- Support Launch Torque and GSIP implementation
- Review and interpret Toolsnet Data to support problem solving
- SME for plant Bypass Process
- SME for plants PS1 Critical Hard Hold repair process / Train workforce
- Maintain training documentation and perform required training for Hourly and Salary on Torque and GSIP
- GSIP Plant Administrator for the site
- Assist with GSIP reporting, data/reports
- Launch contact for all new product setups in GSIP
- Owner of mapping tools in GSIP
- Set up and maintain visual aids for verification stations
- Cross departmental interactions to set up new error proofing devices
- Fill in for Quality Group Leader as needed
- Mainly a 1st shift position, but split or 2nd shift occasionally required
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in Torque/Fastening
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to motivate employees and elicit work output
- Strong Training/Communication skills
- Ability to work / rotate through two shifts (1st & 2nd)
- Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed
