This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Cole Engineering three times per week, at minimum.

The Role:
We are in search of a Technical Integration Engineer (TIE) - specializing in Body in White (BIW) Manufacturing and Product Interface (PI) to join our team!
In this role you will be the single leader from Manufacturing to Product Engineering to set the design and build strategy for your commodity for all vehicle programs. In addition, you will manage that commodity from vehicle program initiation at AVD.

Your responsibilities include collaborating with Product Engineering (PE), functional organizations, and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes that meet program needs. You will be instrumental in early timing workshops, resolving issues, removing roadblocks, and escalating concerns to all levels of management.
This position requires a highly skilled technical expert with the capability to drive excellence in design and manufacturing integration for undeveloped and existing vehicle architectures.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Champion ME requirements and initiatives into program-specific math and activities
- Drive requirements and enablers into all program activities, as required (including CIT, VCIT, MIT, VAPIR, PDT, Core PDT, Mfg. Pre-SMTs, SMT meetings, Health Checks)
- Drive Global PE/ME initiatives in developing new architectures supporting GM business results
- Support cross functional alignment between PE and ME centers, die & stamping, body, paint & general assembly
- Support program timing workshops, build readiness and review meetings, Quality Valves, Gate Reviews, Production Launch Team mtgs. etc.
- Develop and train product interface leads and engineers in new strategies and MR's
- Develop and apply global body enterprise strategies and common applications to ensure interbuildability, manufacturability and world class vehicles across all programs
- Assist product interface teams and product engineers to resolve issues necessary to meet global requirements
- Participate and ensure lessons learned from the start of physical builds thru SORP are shared with affected organizations for improvement for future vehicle development
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, about 20-25% of the time
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Engineering degree
- 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering (ME) disciplines, including body manufacturing, vehicle assembly processes, and/or die and press operations
- Proven track record of driving project success
- Excellent organizational, project, and time management abilities; effective communicator at all leadership levels
- Highly motivated self-starter, adaptable, and effective in team environments
- Ability to provide performance feedback on assistant architects and present program status, issues, and resolutions
- Knowledge of the Global Vehicle Development Process and body manufacturing requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, benchmarking tools, and/or Auros.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20-25% of the time.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Experience ME Body Dimensional, ME Body Execution or Product Engineering, and GM Global experience
- Virtual Engineering understanding or experience
- Experience in recent program launches from Pre-production through Launch Team Release (LTR)
Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
