Sr. Financial Analyst
Description
This role is categorized as Onsite. This means the successful candidate will be based in Saginaw. This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
This position works as a key partner with plant operating leadership, giving timely and relevant reports, analysis and advice that drives business decisions. This team member will be looked to for recommendations that; drive profitability, mitigate risks and solve business problems. This work involves a high level of collaboration, judgement, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and initiative.
What You'll Do
• Ensure all required and necessary accounting entries are processed and reconciled monthly in accordance with GM policies and procedures
• Prepare monthly detailed reporting and analysis of actual financial results and forecast development that accurately depicts all known cost driver changes
• Provide support, insights, and assistance to departments and staff heads in achieving appropriate cost targets by providing accurate and timely cost driver data to other members of the organization
• Prepare special studies and business cases when necessary, providing financial analysis, consultation, and decision support
• Search out and correct inconsistent data, solve problems and develop new methods of analysis

• Champion continuous improvement and innovation (e.g. streamline process, improve data analytics)
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure fiduciary responsibility over all plant activities, including support of process risk management, protection of assets, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and build strong relationships with business partners
• Develop thorough knowledge and understanding of corporate and organizational policies and procedures
• Proactively seek opportunities to grow (e.g. develop new skills, attend training opportunities, network, feedback)
Drive the Business
- Understand the plant operating patterns & budget, to be able to analyze and present clear and concise financial stories
- Provide financial data to plant leaders to support achievement of cost targets
- Drive cost savings across the plant via the 'cost council' forums
- Prepare special studies; providing financial analysis, consultation, and decision support
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and build strong business relationships
Look to the Future
- Solve problems and develop new methods of analysis
- Proactively seek opportunities to grow (e.g. develop new skills, attend training opportunities, network, feedback)

- Create a Budget & LTP that achieves demand goals and optimizes plant efficiencies
Close the Books
- Prepare month-end reports & analysis of actual financial results and driver based forecast
- Develop thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills required to build relationships cross-functionally
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Strong character and integrity
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience using SAP, Hyperion, and/or other computing tools
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy with accountability for results and prioritize assignments/projects with restricted time constraints
- Ability to organize and plan effectively in ambiguous and continually changing environment
- Ability to solve difficult and complex problems with creative solutions
- Ability to assimilate large amounts of data and interpret for decision making and reporting
