Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Innovation Center in Austin (TX), Roswell (GA), or Mountain View (CA) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at any of these 3 locations.

The Team

Digital Products Engineering (DPE) Commerce enables commerce between General Motors, GM Dealers, and consumers. From online vehicle shopping to service scheduling to buying parts, accessories and digital experiences, DPE Commerce focuses on every phase of commerce.

The Role

In this role you will build and maintain the technical solutions using Salesforce technology, works with the technical leads in helping make the right decisions and supports other developers, in the Lead-to-Order organization by following the best practices. This role plays a critical part in contributing to the Salesforce eco system, building partnership with other IT and product stakeholders, and designing the right solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Work with Product and Business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Design, develop, and test Salesforce solutions, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWCs), Visualforce pages, and process automations.
  • Develop automated test scripts and refine code for performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define user and system specifications and translate these into effective technical solutions.
  • Apply foundational practices such as the software development lifecycle (SDLC), test-driven development (TDD), and version control.
  • Leverage critical thinking and debugging skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in architectural and design reviews to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with peers, mentors, and manager to enhance team contributions.
  • Identify opportunities to drive improvements in productivity and efficiency.
  • Suggest novel solutions to complex problems and proactively contribute to team and project goals.
  • Demonstrates very good understanding of the processes and procedures relevant to own work area
  • Understands different areas of their function and how the operations of their area relate to others.
  • Familiarity with backlog grooming process, attributes, review and approval process
  • Plan and monitor scope by ensuring that needs are within the scope for upcoming releases and sprints by facilitating the backlog grooming process. Assist Product management where needed.
  • Works under general supervision with limited guidance and direction.

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years of salesforce software engineering/development experience
  • In-depth expertise in Salesforce development (Apex, LWCs, Visualforce, SOQL)
  • Experience in business & system analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and deliverables effectively
  • Strong engineering practices in a specific domain with demonstrated proficiency in software development, testing, and debugging
  • Self-driven with a proven ability to learn and grow with mentoring and guidance
  • Working knowledge of additional programming languages and software design principles
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations using APIs and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft)

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

  • The salary range for this role is $109,000 to $166,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
