Work Arrangement :

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Estes Engineering Center, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

A fully-qualified individual contributor who has thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the function. Individuals at this level operate with a high level of independent discernment and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management. Broad technical knowledge, training and understanding combined with creative and independent thinking and conceptual ability to relate work performed within broader technical and business context. Requires skill and proficiency in many technical functions and ability to integrate across disciplines. Performs complex assignments requiring a wider application of principles, theories, and concepts. May interact with senior internal and may often deal with external personnel. Not a supervisor but may lead and provide direction to a team of individuals.

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working engineer to join our team to develop and execute test plans that confirms the implementation of Cybersecurity solutions in vehicles. The person in this role will be responsible for creating and developing test procedures, define test execution environment, tools, test properties and effort required to automate and execute the test. Additionally, roll out these test requirements and procedures to impacted stakeholders across the feature ecosystem, including vehicle ECUs as well as Back Office services, coordinate the execution and implementation of the test procedures by all stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to work cross functionally with various teams to develop and execute the test. The ideal candidate is creative, ambitious, and eager to learn and grow through mentorship within the team.

What You'll Do:

Some of the tasks required include (but not limited to):

  • Define, update, modify test scenarios and test cases per Cybersecurity requirements
  • In depth understanding of Cybersecurity Requirements that may involve, review, challenge, enhance requirements and ensure full requirement coverage and traceability
  • Conduct peer reviews with Requirements owner, Test creation peers, test users and stakeholders, and global partners
  • Define test tool requirements by researching solutions, reviewing vendors, defining setup and tool requirements
  • Define Priority test cases (component CG), best practices, setup instructions, & delta questionnaire
  • Develop automation scripts and integration of testing in automation environment
  • Lead rollout plan for new or updated test procedures; define impacted components (ECUs or Back Office services)
  • Train Test stakeholders on how to perform test procedure
  • Lead test results analysis and review
  • Participate in test deviation discussion and approval
  • Participate in test integration into virtual environment for their respective test procedure

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of working experience at GM on Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • Knowledge of software verification/validation processes.
  • Knowledge of embedded software development, testing and associated tools.
  • Knowledge of Back office development, testing and associated tools.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify non-compliance to standards and resolve the issue.
  • Able to work independently with high degree of initiative.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge ( Preferred Qualifications):

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Knowledge in Cybersecurity methods or solutions
  • Knowledge in Back Office support services and ecosystem
  • Knowledge of Over the Air programming methods
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming
  • Understanding of SIL,HIL or Virtual test methods

Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $94,400 - $149,200 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
