Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Burton, Michigan on a full-time basis.
The Role
As the Safety Supervisor for the Customer Care and Aftersales Division facility, this position requires championing ownership of several elements and performance standards of the Workplace Safety System. This includes, but is not limited to, regulatory requirements, safe work practices, and monitoring and measuring. It also encompasses performance standards such as ergonomics, chemical control, noise, and design-in safety expectations. Key coordination and participation in Workplace Safety committees are also expected in this role.

The Davison Road Customer Care and Aftersales Division is a warehousing facility utilizing newer packaging and storage technologies that are currently being launched. A strong safety representation is essential to ensure that deployment meets all regulatory and GM requirements.
What You'll Do
- Champion element and performance standards of safety ownership with excellence
- Coach and develop other WSS champions to level 3 maturity expectation
- Drive compliance in existing processes and ensure deployment of new technologies meet GM and OSHA criteria.
- Be a strong participant in the role of Joint Ergonomics Technician
- Analyze data and trends for continuous improvement opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with strong communication skills to influence others through change that meets overall business strategies
- Be a positive force and cultural influence to keep safety a priority for all team members and leaders
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related subject area.
- 4 years of experience in Safety, Environmental, Manufacturing/Operations, or related field
- Strong social skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adhere to plans.
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software applications.
- Ability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work tasks.
- Capable of lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb (including using ladders and lifts), and operate vehicles and equipment.

- Masters preferred - occupational safety or industrial environmental health
