Onsite This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Cincinnati, Ohio on a full-time basis.
The Role
As the Safety Representative for the Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) facility in Cincinnati, this position requires championing and ownership of several elements and performance standards of the Workplace Safety System. This includes, but is not limited to, regulatory requirements, safe work practices, and monitoring and measuring. It also encompasses performance standards such as ergonomics, chemical control, noise, and design-in safety expectations. Key coordination and participation in Workplace Safety System committees are also expected in this role.

The Cincinnati facility of the Customer Care and Aftersales Division are a mix of inbound/ outbound warehousing utilizing storage and stacking guidelines that aid in reducing workplace injury. A strong safety representation is essential to ensure that on-going operations meet all regulatory and GM safety requirements.
What You'll Do
- Champion element and performance standards of safety with trusted leadership.
- Coach and develop other WSS champions to level 3 maturity.
- Drive compliance in existing processes and ensure deployment of new technology meet GM and OSHA criteria.
- Be a strong participant in the role of Joint Ergonomics reducing injuries with researched practices.
- Analyze data and trends for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with strong communication skills to meets overall business strategies.
- Be a positive force and cultural influence to keep safety a priority for all team members and leaders at CCA Cincinnati.
- This role involves joint participation with local UAW counterparts for Safety and Ergonomics monthly.
- Possible dual roles at another CCA in supporting safety remotely and traveling to this location on as needed basis.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Associate's Degree is required
- 2 years of experience in Safety, Environmental, Manufacturing/Operations, or related field
- Strong social skills, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adhere to plans.
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software applications.
- Capable of lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Willingness to have multiple site responsibilities and possible travel up to 6 weeks out of the year.
- Experience with robotic cell safety and functionality is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related subject area.
