Hybrid: This position requires you to work on-site 3 times a week (Tue to Thu)
Responsibilities:
This role is for an experienced public accounting professional with proven leadership skills to manage medium to large teams on a decentralized finance operating model, requiring critical judgment and capacity to advise on significant accounting and financial statements, metrics and performance, as well as demonstrated business acumen working for a multinational company operating under USGAAP and IFRS guidance's to join our South America regional finance team.
This person should deliver expert guidance to his/her team, business partners, peers or senior leadership on technical guidance to manage processes and procedures, while independently driving operational efficiency and improvements through robust financial and accounting management.
Our Regional Controllership Manager should possess advanced understanding of financial statements, ensuring operational and non-operational awareness on overall results and identifying opportunities to improve financial metrics via efficiencies on costs reductions or profit-enhancing strategic changes.
This professional should work autonomously in fast-paced environments, effectively prioritizing, problem-solving, and completing ambidextrous assignments, focusing on continuous improvement to deliver efficient, high-quality corporate and statutory reporting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
This role will work independently on driving team results and managing performance, aligned with leadership strategy and company policies under senior management limited guidance.
This position should impact our organization by breaking silos to promote open communication, demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration across finance and operations to achieve results, and being able to develop innovative solutions to business problems through data analysis, cross-functional collaboration and team engagement.
- People and performance management
- Oversee General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and standard methodologies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP);
- Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts and document technical accounting memos
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures.
- Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications for all material business decisions;
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including drafting and reviewing SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline;
- Act as a liaison to the external auditors, ensuring open matters are resolved timely
- Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement
- Research, interpret, and document all new accounting standards and how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree completed in Accounting
- Active CRC
- Advanced or Fluent English
- Proven experience in leadership positions
- Experience working in a multinational companies
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preference Qualifications)
- Experience working at Big 4 companies
- Experience in manufacturing companies
- Spanish is a plus
- Knowledge of data analytics tools
- Experience with SAP
