As a Quality Engineering Lead, you will have proficiency and knowledge of Manufacturing and the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ. Proficiency and knowledge of the Quality Launch Plan and the requirements in the Global Quality Manual. Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements. Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a considerate and professional manner. Ability to travel to the GMNA plants as required. Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on complex problems, and regular updates on progress. Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable.
What You'll Do:
- Review manufacturing processes and quality systems
- Implement and monitor the part qualification certification process
- Provide technical support to suppliers and customers
- Function as liason between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues and to provide technical support
- Determine root cause of quality issues and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions
- Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required
- Maintain required documentation and files
- Determine part critical characteristics and required process controls
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum of 3 Years of experience in manufacturing, quality or engineering in a manufacturing facility
- Hands on experience in manufacturing and knowledge to build quality parts
- Highly proficient in reading and interpreting product prints and part measurement reports
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities and equipment
- Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
- Very high level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution where problems are complex
- Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from supervisor
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Technical background/degree (ME, EE, etc.) or equivalent relevant experience
- Proficiency as a Quality Engineer or equivalent
Compensation:
- The expected base compensation for this role is: $94,800.00 - $151,400.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
