Onsite: This position does require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.

Role : Software Development & Integration Lab Operation Engineer

The Role: Sloan Software Development & Integration Lab consist of hundreds of SDV1.0 benches and increasing number of SDV2.0 benches.

These benches represents a sub-assembly of vehicle's electrical system, they are shared assets across the SDV organization for development, QA, and validation team to utilize hardware either remotely or in-person.
The job of the Lab Operation Engineer is to maintain the benches to ensure it is providing value to our customers. We also develop in house software/hardware tool and guides for our customers to enable more control of the bench for the end user.

This position will gain you exposure to multiple products and teams within the SDV organization as you interface with our customers. You will gain in-depth knowledge of the hardware and software that makes up the SDV architecture.

Responsibilities :

  • Maximize runtime on all assets
  • Monitor health of the lab using provided tools
  • Develop tools and processes to make the lab more capable and efficient
  • Provide support in analyzing and resolving customer's issues
  • Guide customer to repository of knowledge articles and contribute to the articles
  • Document work appropriately in Jira

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-change environment with an initiative demonstrated by reaching beyond assigned work to improve output
  • Ability to be hands-on and mobile across 11,500 sq-ft environment
  • Basic low-voltage electrical troubleshooting (Wiring, multimeter, etc)

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) :

  • Understanding of UDS Diagnostics
  • Experiences with CAN tools and software (Vehicle Spy, CANoe)
  • Proficient in Linux
  • System and Network Administrator experience
  • Proficient in Shell, Batch, and Powershell scripting
