Hybrid: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis•
Policy Advocacy:
- Monitoring and analyzing policy developments related to GM Mexico's operations.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders in relevant federal, state and government agencies, members of Congress and regulators to advocate for GM Mexico's interests.
- Supporting GM Mexico's portfolio, facilitating engagement and governmental support for suppliers.
- Prepare policy briefs, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external engagements on a range of policy issues (listed below).

- Managing a range of key automotive policy issues, including but not limited to:
- Legislative/Regulatory - Fuel economy, emissions, safety, cybersecurity, environment and sustainability.
- Trade - Domestic, regional (U.S. and Canada), and international trade policies, including free trade agreements, tariffs, export controls, and investment security.
- Domestic Industrial Policy - federal, state, and local investment incentives (e.g., automotive decrees and unilateral quotas); energy, human capital/workforce, and supplier support.
- Integrating and align GM Mexico activities and strategic priorities across a range of internal workstreams and functions.
- Advise GM Mexico and GM leaders on relevant political developments and policy actions (e.g., trade, security)
- Work with key global and GM Mexico functions to align and advance policy priorities (e.g., Purchasing and Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Labor, Engineering, Product Planning, Finance, Legal, Communications)
- Support GM Mexico and GM North America special projects and issues as they arise (e.g., USMCA, labor, and supply chain nearshoring priorities)
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Strengthen third-party and stakeholder relationships and platforms that enhance the advocacy efforts by GM's Global Public Policy team and drive thought leadership and positioning for GM.
- Build and/or maintain GM's presence with key industry associations and third parties in Mexico. (e.g., AMCHAM, AMIA)
- Coordinate engagement and outreach with GM's Global Public Policy team based in the U.S. and other global markets.
Additional Description
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Law or similar is desirable.
- Proficient in Spanish and English.
- Experience in government and/or public affairs, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Knowledge or experience of public policy initiatives and stakeholder engagement in all three levels of government.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to anticipate threats and opportunities.
- Leadership qualities to work effectively within a team environment.
