Description

Remote: This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

The Role

As Principal Software Engineer in the Special Infrastructure Projects groups, you will be part of a cross-functional team taking on some of the most complex problems across Infrastructure Engineering, and working with software engineering and business teams to design scalable solutions that allow us to deliver better products to customers.

  • Define technical architecture for complex digital products.


  • Be technical DRI for key projects. Ensure those projects are sound technically, make strategic decisions based on technical requirements.


  • Clear communicating with product, program, design, and other engineering teams and partners.


  • Hire world-class engineers to up-level the overall engineering organization.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.


  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience in software development


  • Deep expertise in software engineering principles, development best practices, and modern programming languages


  • Proven experience with cloud-native technologies and architectures


  • Strong background in systems and distributed systems design and implementation


  • Demonstrated technical leadership with a track record of guiding engineering teams


  • Proficient in Java, C#, Go or Rust, and Linux environments


  • Skilled in using modern development tools and CI/CD practices


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear technical documentation and presentations


  • Effective at leading and mentoring engineering teams through influence and collaboration

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • MSc or PhD in computer science or related topic


  • Experience working with event-sourced or event-driven systems

A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $219,000 to $396,700.The actual base salary for a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.


  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
