Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Wentzville on a full-time basis.
The Role:
As a Paint Process Engineer, you will be working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment ensuring that the paint processes and equipment are running safely and efficiently maximizing quality and throughput in the paint department.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Manufacturing process definition.
- Sequence of operations.
- Efficient material flow.
- Responsible for Paint Automation, up to 100 FANUC robots.
- Responsible for supervising UAW union hourly employees.
- Typically part of a larger effort or project.
- Human factors consideration.
- Efficient material flow.
- Continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts.
- Providing technical direction and oversight to outside vendor sources.
- Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Job is an Alternative Work Schedule - Seven 12 hour shifts in period of 2 weeks. The schedule is 1st week: M, Tu - 12 hours, W, Th - off, F, Sa, Su - 12 hours --> following week M, Tu - off, W, Th - 12-hour shifts, F, Sa, Su - off. Repeat two-week schedule.
- Ability to work different shifts weekends/holidays.
- Previous supervision/leadership experience.
- Ability to independently drive problems to resolution.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints.
- Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems.
- Demonstrated high work ethic and ability to consistently drive positive results.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience working in a Union Team environment.
- 1 yrs + Experience in utilizing process control data to run and optimize paint processes.
- Experience operating/maintaining FANUC paint/sealer robots.
- Fundamental understanding of painting process.
- Experience with multiple FANUC robot controller platforms; RJ, RJ2, RJ3, RJ3iB, R30iA.
- Experience with FANUC Robots; P-155, P-200, P-500, P-700, S-500, M-710, M-2000.
- Experience with automation simulation software; Paint Pro, Tecnomatix Process Simulate.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
