Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Milford Proving Ground, Milford MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]
This role is within the General Motors Company Vehicle Operations (CVO) team. Primary work location will be out of the Milford Proving Grounds with occasional work at the Warren campus. The primary role of Fleet Operations Support is to assist in managing the General Motors Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance program. This includes multiple moving pieces regarding federal regulations and how they apply to our workflow. This program spans nationwide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining various programs and reporting. Work involves a great deal of organizational skills, initiative, and collaboration with various stakeholders. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with the Global Product Programs/Software and Services fleet as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee FMCSA compliance policies and procedures
- Monitor and ensure adherence to FMCSA requirements
- Maintain records related to vehicle inspections, hours of service, and documentation specific to our FMCSA program
- Review driver qualification records to ensure compliance
- Observe FMCSA policy changes and provide recommendations on how to implement
- Support all aspects of vehicle inventory management, including annual physical inventory (API) and business unit accountability for usage of company vehicles
- Focus on continuous improvements to create efficiencies in CVO processes
- Coordinate special requests from business units and other CVO regions
- Promote teamwork, quality and professionalism in the workplace and demonstrate personal initiative
- This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate
Additional Description
Required Qualifications:
- 2 + years of experience with FMCSA, Company Vehicle Operations, transportation safety management, fleet management or related
- Passion for working together and customer service
- Excellent analytical and problems solving skills, administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to use good judgment and work independently
- Ability to document current business processes and recommend efficiencies and improvements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience with Haul Compliance software
- Working knowledge of federal and state transportation safety laws (Specifically Michigan)
- Proficiency working in eCVMS (Company Vehicle Management System) and with CVO policies
