The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Motorsports Simulation Operations Support Engineer to join our team at the GM Motorsports. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of high-performance simulation systems that support our race teams.
The ideal candidate will be a strong troubleshooter with a passion for solving complex technical issues and a proactive approach to system maintenance. You'll be the go-to person for making sure our simulators are running at peak performance-supporting the drivers, engineers, and teams that rely on them.

What You'll Do
System Support & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues affecting simulator operations.
- Provide real-time technical support during simulation sessions, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to escalate and resolve persistent or complex issues.
Maintenance & Reliability:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize simulator uptime.
- Track system health and performance and perform routine checks to identify potential failures before they happen.
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities and system updates.
Operations & Performance:
- Ensure all simulator systems are calibrated, configured, and optimized for daily use by race engineers and drivers.
- Support software updates, system integrations, and configuration changes as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure simulation hardware/software meets current technical requirements.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including system diagrams, checklists, and SOPs.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and streamline operations.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5 or more years of industry related experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting or maintaining Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator systems -preferably within a motorsports environment or other high-performance vehicle development programs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
- Comfortable working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience working with race teams or in a motorsport simulation environment.
- Familiarity with simulation platforms and tools such as rFpro, Concurrent Real-Time systems, and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) setups.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation using Python or C#.
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics, real-time systems, or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.
- Ability to quickly adapt to evolving tools and workflows in a high-performance engineering setting.
