The Brand Strategy Director will bring to life the creative and strategic vision of the vehicle brands (Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC) across all touchpoints to drive short- and long-term growth. This newly created role will report into the Chief Marketing Officer.
GM is undergoing a marketing transformation. Core to our strategy is building our brand power to both retain our loyal drivers and welcome new drivers into the GM family. This position requires the ability to embrace and advance the GM marketing vision while driving that vision into immediate business impact for our brands. This leader will have a strategist's mind with a passion for execution. The role will also require an ability to build and lead a high performing team with a strong bias for action. A generalist mindset will be beneficial coupled with the ability to go deep where needed. Most importantly, this person should love and embrace change and possibility. What you will do:

Contribute to the strategy of seeding the accurate brand message across the Mexico organization, dealerships, media outlets, agencies, etc.

- Ensure that all creative marketing materials adhere to strict brand guidelines.

- Conduct market research and analyze data to gain marketing insights and uncover key consumer insights and competitive opportunities.

- Lead the development of creative marketing campaigns for various GM products including vehicles, accessories, parts, services, etc.

- Handle external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.

- Run the creation and portfolio of corporate creative content.

- Build and maintain relationships both internally and externally i.e.; CRM, agencies, GM partners, etc.

- Manage a team or GM staff and/or agency staff.

- Mentor, develop, and coach talent.

- Undertake related tasks as assigned.

Additional Description

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in brand management roles, with a proven track record of driving business growth and exceptional marketing outcomes
  • Strong leadership skills with a penchant for building and leading high performing teams
  • A natural ability to create and foster cross-functional relationships across business and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce best-in-class creative campaigns that resulted in strong business outcomes.
  • Strategic brand leadership creating equity that builds beyond single executions to over time modernize the brand and create new customer opportunities.
  • Understanding of how to build around the customer journey to create brand plans that maximize every platform and capture value from every touchpoint.
  • Ability to derive insight from data to drive decision making.
  • Past leadership roles setting up and driving a successful Integrated Agency Team (IAT)
  • Experience in building agency partnerships and a deep understanding of the creative development process.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic level to align and inspire business owners with marketing strategies and insights, as well as tactically drive the necessary collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of consumer and market research with the ability to implement findings into decision making.
  • A strategic thinker with an eye for spotting new opportunities and the agility to act on them.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels, including to VP and C-level executives.
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate motor vehicle on a regular basis
