The Material Control Lead will be responsible for the supervision of a medium size group of contract employees, engaged in the activities and functions of material and/or production control departments which include responsibilities for, transportation, inventory management, and controlling of raw material, in-process and finished goods. Work entails a number of involved administrative operations or technical duties with decisions made within the limits of general practices, standards and policies. Work will be performed under general supervision while exercising significant independent judgment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Manages the material flow process through banks, buffers and visual inventory controls
  • Ensures correct inventories for assembly material
  • Supports BPD / Scorecard achievement
  • Supports GMS SLT implementation activities as subject matter expert
  • Manages annual physical inventory
  • Internal Controls compliance for their functions
  • Administers the LLP process
  • Supervises 3rd party Logistics provider
  • Trains and develops people
  • Administers safety, vacation and attendance policy
  • Resolves numerous issues dealing with suppliers, supplier contracts or buyer related problems
  • Follow-up on problem solving initiatives related to stock discrepancies
  • Coordinates material activities surrounding a plan for every part for MVB and all launch activities
  • Interfaces with Central Office allocation on part issues as required
  • Maintains ISO standards
  • Implements, monitors and maintains GMS elements
  • Reviews old and processes new freight claims and elevates to GM Logistics when required
  • Investigates supplier claims of unpaid bills
  • Investigates duplicate receipts
  • Is responsible for the coordination of Material systems and modules
  • Supports critical material flow systems such as STMS, PPS and EPS
  • Performs a daily audit of record adjustments including MR/DR reviews
  • Responsible for stock / record balance accuracy
  • Ensure GM inventory and capital investment is protected
  • Develop and implement cost savings projects
  • Ensure total cost perspective is utilized

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 3 years of Supply Chain experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Ability to work over-time as needed
  • Ability to work Monday-Thursday 10-hour shifts (6am-4:30pm)
  • High level analytical ability where problems are complex
  • High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 3+ years of supply chain experience
  • Proficient in MGO Inventory control and scheduling screens
  • Knowledge of production part ordering systems
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Leadership experience
  • GMS experience
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures
