Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI, Mountain View, CA, or Austin, TX three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of test automation engineers focused on mobile applications across Android and iOS. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for test automation , defining quality metrics, and driving continuous improvement across our mobile testing practice. This role requires strong technical expertise in mobile testing frameworks, as well as leadership and people management skills to mentor and scale a high-performing quality team.

What You'll Do:
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of Quality Engineers focused on automated testing for mobile platforms (iOS & Android).
- Define and execute the test automation strategy and roadmap aligned with product and engineering goals.
- Ensure robust test coverage through the implementation of scalable and reusable automation frameworks using tools like BrowserStack .
- Collaborate with product, UX , development, and release teams to align quality strategies across the software development lifecycle.
- Oversee the integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps , Jenkins , or GitHub Actions .
- Monitor mobile app performance and quality across multiple environments and devices.
- Analyze test results, track quality metrics, and drive defect prevention and process improvements.
- Promote a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Own and manage QA vendor relationships and contract resources, if applicable.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software testing , including hands-on experience with mobile test automation .
- 5+ years of team leadership or people management experience.
- Strong experience with mobile automation frameworks and cross-platform testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack , Appium , PerfectoMobile ).
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of mobile app ecosystems and distribution platforms such as Google Play, TestFlight, and Firebase.
- Proficiency with at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python , Java , JavaScript ).
- Strong understanding of test case management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in software testing or quality engineering (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
- Experience working in an Agile environment with BDD frameworks like Gherkin/Cucumber .
- Proven experience scaling automation in large enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with telemetry , mobile analytics , and performance monitoring tools.
- Experience working in the automotive, IoT, or embedded software domain.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is 143,000 to 219,400. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
