Work as One Team with VS Material & LMS Execution Team to execute all Product Programs, manage funding for Material & LMS Launch initiatives. Develop / understand long-term Material & LMS Vision for the plant. Plan and support execution of all Plant Lean Material Strategies including material flow, material routings, storage space requirements, mobile equipment, layout development, storage areas, kitting, small lot strategy, sequence planning, PFEP, etc.
What You'll do:
- Implement standardize material flow and material handling processes and measure plant compliance
- Implement standardize Internal Benchmarks for material flow and material handling processes
- Maintain productivity scorecards, LMS scorecard, & LMS Wall
- Drive Material Planning Metrics (DPP & DPPN) to be applied in all regions
- Develop efficient Material Route Planning (GMOS), Dock Strategies, Material Flow
- Follow material flow diagram to drive the best part presentation (Total Enterprise Cost)
- Develop & track to Master Dot milestones & Deliverables
- Support the Manufacturing Launch team at the plant and Program Team
- Develop and apply Lean Material Strategies (LMS) using the Material Matrix to ensure most efficient material presentation to Mfg. Operators.
- Drive & execute common standards, processes, and lean designs.
- Integrate Lean Manufacturing and GM-Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles
- Provide updates to plant staff and Program Team as required
- Support PFMEA and SFEMEA process
- Drive problem solving issues for throughput and quality issues
- Support BIQ objectives
- Analyze existing operations and propose continuous improvements (CI)
- Optimize floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment
- Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and ergonomic guidelines
- Develop, track, and implement budget allocation
- Facilities design, layout, and processes that reduce cost/ achieve operational efficiencies.
Additional Description
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Manufacturing/Supply Chain Experience
• Strong analytical, computer, presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• High level of analytical ability & problem solving where problems are unusual and difficult
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MS-Office tools (Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of work measurement/work standards, ergonomic principles, material optimization, and facility layout strongly preferred
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Process and GM Plant Material Experience.
• High level of communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to present findings to all levels of the organization.
