The Role
We are at a pivotal time in our industry where advanced engineering tools and systems are critical to efficient product development. The Electrification Propulsion Integration (EPI) organization is currently looking for experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Lead Calibration Tools Development Engineer. This role will lead a team of Software Engineers, as the business owner, in the development of a Next Generation Calibration Management System (NG-CMS). NG-CMS will enable scalable, efficient, robust, and optimized workflows for our calibration organizations. The position is located at the Milford Proving Grounds in a unique facility dedicated to Hybrid/EV/AV development.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the Next Generation Calibration Management System (NG-CMS)
- Primary administrator for the Global Calibration Management System (GCMS), providing support for the Global Calibration Organizations
- Lead and primary point of contact for the Calibration Sector Business Administrators
- Lead and support teams developing GCMS, NG-CMS, software build process, and calibration tools
- Ensure GCMS, NG-CMS, and calibration tools support new controls architectures
- Define, prioritize, and execute feature enhancements to GCMS, NG-CMS
- Define and execute validation procedures on latest GCMS and NG-CMS releases
- Lead the development of a Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD) tool system to automatically provide calibrations for software testing
- Primary contact for tool suppliers
Minimum Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering/computer science experience (controls or calibration preferred)
- Experience successfully leading large and/or difficult projects with high levels of ambiguity
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with different teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience with embedded controls software
- Experience with calibration tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, AVL CRETA)
- Familiarity in computer programming languages including C/C++ and Python
- Experience as a Controls, Software, or Calibration Engineer
- Comprehensive automotive system knowledge
