Description
Develops and optimizes calibrations to meet performance and timing requirements. Delivers on-time and defect-free calibration releases per milestone requirements. Provides technical direction to assigned calibration engineers on program. Plans calibration activities and resources (Cal Planner). Creates and manages calibration responsibility map in CRETA. Conducts calibration reviews to ensure high quality. Manages calibration change control, including approvals. Manages vehicle development property usage. Plans and executes calibration development activities, including test trips. Assists calibration engineers as needed with issue resolution. Mentors newer calibration engineers. Diagnoses and corrects vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies. Supports resolution of vehicle, plant, durability/lab, or customer issues. Generates requests for software changes, develops new features, functions, and requirements. Participates in propulsion and vehicle development forums (PPIT, PAPIR, VCIT, VPIT, dev/val). Utilizes Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS). Adheres to all Safety Precautions and Requirements, and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

Additional Description
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Engineer, Powertrain Research Intern, Development Engineer, or related role. Five (5) years of experience: Utilizing On-board diagnostics (OBD) calibration; Working on Feedback control calibrations, setpoints calibrations for base control, on board diagnostics calibrations, and fuel efficiency; Calibrating automotive powertrain embedded controls using advanced data analysis, model-based calibration techniques, dynamometer, environment test chambers and vehicle testing; Developing a test plan and executing on road vehicle test trips for calibration and validation of powertrain control software; Utilizing VCDM or CRETA for calibration submissions and the calibration release process; Utilizing VSPY/INCA for hardware setups, workspace creation, data acquisition, and troubleshooting ETAS and Intrepid equipment; Performing instrumentation and data acquisition setup for development vehicle; Utilizing MATLAB and Simulink for controller software comprehension and tool development to aid data analysis and calibration; Writing software code in C and C++; Performing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) benches and collaborating with plant modeling teams, hardware teams, and laboratories to troubleshoot and resolve bench issues; Collecting data and flashing software and calibration packages on production powertrain controllers over CAN communication protocol (CCP) or other protocols; Utilizing Model-based development tools and techniques for virtual calibration process; Working within EPA Emissions regulations and CARB OBD regulations; and Communicating with production and development powertrain controllers using GMW3110 communication protocols.
