Description
Lead the architecture and requirements development for systems related to the next generation of Connected Vehicle, Automated Driving (L2+), and Autonomous (L4) technologies being developed at GM. Develops deep knowledge related to their system and be considered the technical expert for system design and performance. Leads all aspects of systems development such as requirements definition, analysis, and development of applicable system. Develops system technical specifications along with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Implements new features and functions. Performs hands-on testing and issue triage. Supports development of necessary tools and performs performance analysis. Supports Tier 1 and 2 development of these technologies into GM products. Builds mechanization drawings with assistance from the architecture team. Creates and maintains applicable system, subsystem, and component software specifications in IBM DOORS and DOORS Next Generation (DNG). Leads and participates in software peer reviews to ensure compliance to requirements. Provides technical leadership for sophisticated technology development. Collaborates with other system engineers and specialists to define and negotiate key functional and performance requirements. Analyzes root causes for all applicable system related issues during testing and validation. Ensures work is completed as per the milestone. Responsible for compliance with GM processes and safety procedures. Represents the team globally as a key partner to the product. Supports and leads activities for customer outreach and education in these technologies and their respective use cases. Duties may be performed remotely.

REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role. Three (3) years of experience with: Major automotive vehicle systems, including Advanced Driver Assistance (ADS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain; Performing system and component level DFMEAs; Design and development of safety critical systems and components (ISO26262); and Automotive product release and specification process.
