Role Summary:
The Calibration Engineer is an Individual contributor with recognized expertise responsible for tasks and deliverables throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle including requirements definition, calibration design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution;
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and ownership of engine calibration parameters data;
This position could involve a combination of in-vehicle and laboratory data collection, bulk data analysis, along with related performance verification on bench/in vehicle to ensure robust execution of diagnostic and controls calibrations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creation and maintenance of a calibration development plan (similar to a project plan);
- Development and delivery of calibration data sets in accordance with project plan;
- Troubleshoot and root cause issues with systems, test vehicles and instrumentation;
- Support development of test benches and execute early calibration work using test benches;
- Participate in development trips and related test activities;
- Support resolution of vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, or customer issues;
- Actively participate in Product Development Teams and work with Technical Experts to improve current tests and develop new tests. This may involve comprehending related ECU algorithms and associated calibration process;
- Utilize and create post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in generation of final calibration or reports;
- Interact with facilities, technical leads, calibration teams, hardware release engineers, and others to improve process and test efficiency;
- Support math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math based models and data analysis;
- Provide support to other engineers for root cause analysis;
- Design Tests to efficiently identify opportunities for calibration improvements;
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices;
- Identify and document system vulnerabilities and create mitigation action plans; track corrective actions.
Additional Description
Required Skills and Experience:
- Fluent English communication skill. High level of oral and written communication;
- High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, and ability to establish Peer Relationships local and international;
- Proficient with computer and data acquisition systems;
- Demonstrate a steadfast pursuit of innovation and continuous improvement;
- Strong experience with data acquisition and ability to expertly collect and analyze empirical data to optimize testing or model results;
- Time management skills to meet agreed upon customer deliverables, able to lead multiple tasks;
- Solid experience in vehicle or powertrain calibration;
- Experience on programming scripts using languages such as Visual Basic, C, C++ or Python;
- Experience performing hands-on debugging or troubleshooting of software and/or hardware components;
- Valid Driver's license.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with tools commonly used in calibration: INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, and/or MatLab/SimuLink
- Familiarity with government regulations and test cycles (e.g., FTP, US06, WLTP, RDE)
Education and Training:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similars)
