This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Swartz Creek Processing Center on a full-time basis.
The Role:
We are seeking a seasoned and driven General Supervisor for our Warehouse Distribution Center to lead daily operations, manage inventory, ensure quality control, and oversee all inbound and outbound shipments. This leadership position plays a critical role in enforcing safety compliance, meeting shipping deadlines, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, operational and inventory management expertise, and a commitment to quality assurance. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
• Foster strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and the management team.
• Monitor and enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized facility.
• Support hiring decisions by participating in candidate selection.
• Track daily productivity and quality metrics to meet customer expectations.
• Champion a culture of safety through consistent enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Evaluate team performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Achieve KPI targets by setting clear goals and using available resources to resolve challenges.
• Administer and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
• Lead and direct daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow and order processing.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate supervisors and support staff.
• Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to boost operational performance and quality.
• Ensure on-time processing and shipment of customer orders.
• Identify and eliminate workflow bottlenecks to meet delivery timelines.
• Partner with the logistics team to streamline shipment processes.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Hands-on experience with Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS).
• Strong problem-solving and labor relations experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Skilled at managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
• Effective time management skills focused on prioritizing high-impact tasks.
• Computer proficiency, including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated expertise in inventory control, quality assurance, receiving, and shipping.
• Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift as needed by the business.
• Availability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
