Description

On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Toledo, Ohio plant on a full-time basis.

The Role:

This role will coordinate and plan all changeover activities for the AB1V, GF8, and Heat Treat gear departments. Work will also be of a technical nature and requires the ability to make decisions based off existing gear machine downtime. Ideally, the candidate would possess strong planning abilities to be able to forecast proactively and communicate with the Gear Group Leaders the plan for changeovers. Additionally, the ability to lead CI workshops and initiatives is desired, as this role will also focus on leading CI activities in different departments.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the schedule planning of the three departments
  • Work closely with the maintenance and engineering departments to forecast planned maintenance downtime for the departments
  • Meets production cost schedule and customer demand
  • Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to Gear Business Team Manager
  • Coach GMS process as the system for effective use of resources and reduction of waste
  • Complies with terms of local and national agreement
  • Implement divisional and corporate policies
  • Implement safety and WPO standards
  • Frequent contact with stakeholders of the gear department
  • Effective communication with all parties involved
  • Occasional production/salary coverage

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 2+ years of experience managing gear inventory in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of Leadership/supervisor experience
  • Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple manufacturing operation activities
  • Must be able to work rotating shift, as needed.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends, as needed.

  • Union experience preferred
  • PowerBi experience preferred
