GAME Execution Zone Engineer
Description
Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly on a full-time basis.
The Role
The GAME Execution Zone Engineer should be able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervisor. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary to produce parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Lead in developing manufacturing processes, designing equipment/tooling, Integration of equipment, installation into the plant, and managing to steady state.
- Leading all new programs, model changes and current production in a specific area.
- Define all areas of change, which include product and manufacturing requirements (tooling, workstation setup, facility, etc.)
- Lead responsibility of assigned zone within plant which includes ensuring all tooling, conveyors, material and automation requirements are met per launch timeline.
- Efficient material flow understandings for future material movement
- Develop interfaces, and work with cross functional teams to develop / define common tooling and processes across whole department and other groups
- Develop tooling SOR's and project management for tools, stations, or specific technologies.
- Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor suppliers
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts.
- Support build events at the plant
- Address launch issues
- Work will involve some weekends and travel which may be extensive at times in addition to potential off shift timeframes
- Participating in Program financials reviews
- Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
- Attend PDT and CIT Meetings supporting Product Interface as required
- Status Process MR's in Auros
- Facilitate Virtual Builds
- Attend weekly Zone Integration Planning meetings (Identify Install Requirements, Phasing, Pull-Ahead Plans, Conveyance Interface, etc.)
- Support development of LMS / Material Plans and part presentation for Zone process content
- Facilitate Process Development Deep Dives and WITS
- Update MTTL and METL with Zone Tooling Requirements
- Procurement of Tooling and M&E working with process team and strategic supplier(s)
- Support the design, build, and validation of tools with Supplier
- Cross Check MTTL versus CME provided Special Tool List
- Support IVER Process
- Provide Single Spindle Requirements to Power Tool Coordinator
- Execution to PPI IVER Lessons Learned
- Complete Level 3 PFMEA Activity for Program
- Ensure Designs Submitted for Databank by Suppliers and Plant Acquisition of Spare Parts is on Track
- Complete Tooling/Equipment required tasks for launch team release
- Develop and maintain Zone Boards for visual management during project installation/validation and Facilitate Zone Boards Review Meetings
- Ensure Plant Maintenance Training is on Track for critical Equipment
- Participate in Safety Observation Tours
- Creation of critical tooling to container interface business case
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

- 2 - 4 yrs. Experience in Manufacturing
- 1 - 2 yrs. Experience with automotive industry is preferred
- Ability to solve complex problems independently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility with changing work hours and environment as required to meet project timeline and support plant operating schedule
- Availability to weekends and Holidays as required
- Ability to travel which can be extensive at times during product program launches
- Demonstrate levels of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with a level of autonomy and accountability for results
- Shows initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
- Project management skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical equivalent. Project Management or business degrees will also be considered with some professional experience in Manufacturing
