Description
Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends. Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval and discuss need for modification. Works on digital surfacing of proof of concept and bench top models. Prepares for b-side and build surface data for fabrication of show vehicle. Build sections based off collected information. Assists studio personnel in developing solutions to engineering and design problems. Create and maintain assemblies for large projects. Build and maintain good working relationships with Shop, Project Management, and Design. Monitors quality control and build schedule. Coordinate input from internal and external customer to better understand customer needs and or perceptions. Keep abreast of current product developments and trends in area of expertise. Perform basic assessment of surface quality. Adhere to corporate data management processes including Teamcenter and SharePoint and communication systems including timekeeping and email. Coordinates the fabrication of models or samples and the drafting of working drawings and specification sheets from sketches.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field of study and Five years of experience as a Research Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related role. Five years of experience with: MS Office including Work, Excel, and Powerpoint; Fabrication processes, including equipment and materials; CAD systems and design; Creating production math models using high tolerance specifications; Graphic and digital applications including engineering drawings; Rapid prototyping; Programming, electronics, and circuit design; Mechatronics; Embedded Systems; Project and Program management; Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA); Mechanisms Design; and Mechanical Engineering.
Compensation:
- The expected base compensation for this role is $156,000.00 to $158,000.00 Annually.
- Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
