Description
The Senior Safety Manager will be responsible for leading and mentoring multiple team members of safety professionals to support the China region in the implementation of safety processes. This role will develop strategic direction that drives successful execution of GM's Global Workplace Safety Strategy. This role also encompasses deployment at the site/country/regional level and is responsible for driving successful execution of the Global Workplace Safety (GWS) action plans at the sites. The position will provide Safety Group Managers with clear direction, education, and tools to be effective roadblock busters for their respective functions. The position needs to ensure that regional/country/Global regulatory requirements and GM requirements are understood, implemented, and assessed at all managed sites.

- This role partners with their peers to share and demonstrate best in class practices across their Regions/sites, supports the site operations leadership, developing and educating the GWS Resources, and other key GWS functions.
- This role will lead Safety Professionals to support sites and/or region in the implementation of safety processes.
- Develops valuable strategic direction that drives successful execution of Global Workplace Safety Strategy Deployment at the site/country/regional level.
- Work with Joint Venture Companies to identify risks and strategically implement GM/ Country standards and practices to fulfil gaps.
- Assists or directs the resolution of government safety violations or citations
