The Role

The Lead, Customer Engagement (Concord) plays a pivotal role in driving product visibility, supporting opportunity development, and fostering meaningful relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for leading teams to plan, coordinate and support high-profile events and customer engagement activities. The ideal candidate will excel in quickly crafting adaptive solutions, coordinating logistics with precision, and delivering exceptional customer experiences that reinforce GM Defense's position as a market leader.

What You'll Do

The Lead, Customer Engagement is responsible for managing and coordinating a wide range of activities associated with and executed from the MCIC that are critical for customer engagement, opportunity development, and long-term growth of GM Defense to include:

Customer Engagement Event Coordination

  • Customer-Centric Events : Partner with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute impactful customer-and product-focused events that support GM Defense opportunity development and strategic engagement.
  • On-Site Event Operation at Concord, NC Facilities: Serve as the lead point person for on-site GM Defense customer engagement events at MCIC, ensuring seamless coordination of event setup, staffing support, leadership awareness, branding, and customer interactions.
  • Event Protocol Management: Establish and refine event protocols to ensure high-quality execution, professionalism, and consistency across all activations.

Customer Engagement Resource Management

  • Resource Management & Tracking: Coordination of management, maintenance and tracking of GS&S resources at MCIC (marketing vehicles, etc.)
  • Marketing Asset Tracking: Coordination and tracking of all GMD marketing vehicles and assets
  • Cost Development & Estimation: Development of cost estimates for customer engagement activities based on historical data, quotes and other available info

Coordination of and Support for Vehicle Deployment

  • Special Move Coordination & Support: Coordination and tracking of special moves to support for product-focused customer engagements, to include ride & drives, field demos, and unit-embedded vehicle deployments. This will include coordination of customer-funded movement of GMD vehicles (e.g. U.S. Army moves under existing Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA))
  • Deployed Engagement Support: Provide coordination and support for product-focused engagements with customers at customer field locations (training areas, etc.), to include vehicle/asset unloading, staging, and support for customer operation of GMD vehicles/assets

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, branding, event management, or customer engagement roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing product focused customer engagement events
  • Strong understanding of branding principles, operational security (OPSEC) practices, and experiential marketing strategies required for successful customer engagement
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with a track record of influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders for customer engagement.
  • Proficiency in project management tools required for activity planning and resource management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Experience in the defense, security and automotive sectors
  • Eligible to obtain secret U.S Security Clearance after hire
  • Eligible to obtain U.S. Agency Public Trust Determination within certain period after hire
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of GM Defense products and services is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure event effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.

This position requires eligibility to access classified information at the Secret U.S. Security Clearance level for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. The successful candidate must have eligibility to access classified information at that level.

This role requires that you must have or be able to obtain within a reasonable period after hire a U.S. Agency Public Trust Determination.
