Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Blanc, MI on a full-time basis. Occasional travel to our Pontiac, MI facility may be required based on business needs.

The Role

As a CNC Programmer/Machinist , you will be responsible for transforming 3D models or blueprints into precision-machined, world-class racing components. Working within our Grand Blanc Motorsports Machine Shops , you'll take projects from concept to completion-programming, setting up, and machining high-performance parts that meet the exacting standards of the motorsports industry.

What You'll Do

  • Program and set up tooling for CNC machines, perform basic inspection, and finish machined parts.
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and material specifications to plan machining operations.
  • Design and build fixtures to support part machining processes.
  • Program CNC mills using both manual G-code and CAM software.
  • Ensure part quality by following established quality assurance procedures and standards.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Contribute to team success by taking ownership of tasks and seeking opportunities to add value.

What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 10 years of machining experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in CAM software, preferably Mastercam .
  • Strong 3D surfacing capabilities.
  • Experience selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds.
  • Hands-on experience with manual mills and lathes .
  • Proficient in 4-axis CNC programming and operation .
  • Familiarity with GD&T standards .
  • Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate across disciplines and cultures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for sharing technical data.
  • Flexibility to work day, afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience programming and operating 4- and 5-axis CNC machines .
  • Familiarity with both horizontal and vertical CNC machining .
  • Experience with UG (NX) and TeamCenter .
  • CNC lathe programming and operation experience.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal, Makino, and Siemens controllers.
  • Understanding of the fast-paced and evolving racing environment .
