This role is REMOTE but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI - Cadillac Tower you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation.

The General Motors Global Social Marketing team is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Social Media strategist to support the social media and brand engagement efforts for the Cadillac Racing account for IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing series.

This individual will assist in managing the social media presence across platforms, supporting the execution of best-in-class campaigns that align with the racing brand's key customer demographics. You'll play a key role in ensuring that social content is relevant, engaging, and consistent across channels, while supporting the broader social media strategy for Cadillac's motorsports initiatives.

As a social-first thinker with a passion for motorsports and digital trends, you'll assist in managing content calendars, collaborating with internal teams and agencies, and helping foster a loyal, engaged racing social community. Your ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and your experience in social media execution will help elevate the brand's presence and meet key KPIs, including reach, engagement, and brand loyalty. Prior experience and/or passion for IMSA, WEC racing, endurance racing, and motorsports culture is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Planning Support: Assist the social media team and external agencies in the development of evergreen social media strategies and racing-focused content, ensuring alignment with content pillars, race education, seasonal racing calendars, and event-specific content needs.


  • Content Calendar Coordination: Help manage the social media content calendar around racing schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of race weekend content, behind-the-scenes footage, and driver spotlights. Work closely with internal teams, legal, and third-party partners to ensure all content meets necessary approvals and motorsports guidelines.


  • Channel Management Support: Assist in managing Cadillac Racing social media channels, ensuring content is formatted correctly and optimized for platform-specific best practices, with special focus on real-time race content and live event coverage.


  • Community Development & Engagement: Support the development of loyal racing communities across platforms, assisting in managing relationships with racing influencers, drivers, team members, and user-generated content (UGC) initiatives to foster brand advocacy within the motorsports community.


  • Project Management Support: Help organize meetings with internal and external teams to coordinate race weekend content planning, timelines, and deliverables. Track the progress of social media projects and ensure all milestones are met.


  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the content development process to ensure successful execution.


  • Metrics Reporting Assistance: Collaborate with the analytics team to gather data and provide insights for monthly performance reports, helping to refine future racing content strategies and measure engagement during key racing events.


  • Platform Best Practices: Assist in maintaining relationships with social platform partners, learning from motorsports best practices, and staying informed on innovative racing content strategies.


  • Brand Consistency: Help ensure that all content on social platforms reflects the correct Cadillac Racing brand tone, voice, and messaging while maintaining the premium performance heritage of the V-Series Racing program.


  • Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on emerging trends in social media and motorsports content to support the development of timely and relevant racing strategies, including meme culture, racing terminology, and fan engagement tactics.


  • Global Coordination Support: Assist in aligning content sharing strategies across global racing teams and markets, ensuring content resonates with global IMSA and WEC audiences.

Requirements:

  • Experience: >1 year of experience in social media, content development, or community management, with an understanding of social media platforms and trends and/or in a corporate setting


  • Platform Expertise: Familiarity with major social media platforms (Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) and an understanding of best practices for engaging content on these platforms.


  • Creative Passion: A strong understanding of brand tone and language, with the ability to create content that is aligned with the brand's voice.


  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.


  • Collaboration: A team-oriented approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external agencies.


  • Proactive Approach: A self-starter who is proactive in driving results and solving problems efficiently.


  • Travel: This position requires traveling to most North American racing events during IMSA and WEC seasons, which includes race weekends at various tracks to capture real-time racing content and engage with fans during live events.


  • Education: Bachelor's degree required - Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship


  • Understanding of endurance racing formats and fan culture


  • Experience working with automotive or motorsports brands


  • Experience with live event social media coverage

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: ($76,100-$121,600). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
