DUTIES:
Lead the design, architecture, execution, and deployment of the enterprise wide SDV2.0 Boot and Programming initiative in alignment with other critical emerging technology and innovation initiatives such as software defined vehicle (SDV) and the new generation of vehicle intelligence platforms (VIP+). Work directly with critical partners such as GM Tools, BSW Vendors, Microcontroller Suppliers, HWIO, Basic Software, Cybersecurity, Universal Basic Software, and others to deliver an efficient and compliant boot and programming architecture that meets SDV2.0 topology requirements. Deliver on time with first time quality to meet program deliverables, CVF, IC by IV Bench, and other critical infrastructure milestones. Align key stakeholders across EPEX, coordinate architecture of the various initiatives, determine the optimal architecture to meet technical and business objectives, and deliver tactical plans and roadmaps to the execution team. Manage, mentor, and guide a cross functional team of boot and programming team members across organizations and even companies. Review existing software to determine restructuring opportunities to improve quality, maintainability, reusability, or other software improvements. Stay up to date on trends in layered software engineering, quality, architecture, and development processes. Actively engage in external technical communities to stay abreast with latest technology trends and bring outside perspective to continuously improve our architecture, products, and processes. Collaborate with VMEC, SDV, VIP Execution, Electronics, Mechatronics, and other GECSE teams to ensure key stakeholder alignment, innovation, quality, efficiency, and productivity, as well as support technology roadmaps. Drive software architecture discipline and principles into the organization. Deepen the knowledge of boot and programming, software quality, and software architecture within EPEX. Build relationships and manage key interfaces with other organizations and teams including systems, safety, advanced controls, and hardware engineering, to define and capture requirements and ensure successful implementation of features. Mentor and develop others, providing technical training and establish effective mechanisms of knowledge-sharing. Drive a culture of GM Behaviors, safety, and regulatory compliance. Telecommuting available two (2) days a week.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field of study. Eight (8) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Solution Architect, Senior Software Architect or related occupation. Must also have five (5) years of experience with: Low Level Embedded Software Development on C and Assembly Language for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers; Device Driver Development (Flash, EEPROM, CAN, Ethernet) and Troubleshooting of Startup Code; AUTOSAR Software (BSW) Integration and Configuration Tools - EB Tresos, Vector Davinci, ETAS ISOLAR; Automotive Vehicle Communication (CAN, CANFD, Ethernet) Development Tools Vector - Canoe, Intrepid - Vehicle Spy; Diagnostics protocols (UDS- ISO14229); and Development and Integration of UDS based Boot Loaders.
