We are looking for an exceptionally experienced and highly skilled, passionate, and motivated Backend Team Lead to join our newly established Commercial Software Platform team . This team plays a key role in supporting GM's next-generation fleet solutions and mobility services. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for helping lead our engineering efforts through planning, design and architecture, execution, and ramp. You will guide and inspire a dynamic team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge software solutions while fostering innovation and collaboration. As a technical leader, you will be excited to mentor less experienced engineers, build strong relationships with technical leaders on other teams, and facilitate a strong team culture.
You will work closely with the product manager(s), user experience teams, and other execution and engineering teams.
What will you do?
- Deliver high-quality software that is well-tested, undergoes code reviews, and is committed regularly for continuous integration.
- Actively contribute to development tasks, coding, and reviewing pull requests alongside your team.
- Lead technical discussions, decide on tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns, and ensure they align with the broader organizational strategy.
- Help junior and mid-level engineers grow by sharing knowledge, providing regular feedback, and supporting their professional development.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other technical leaders to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
- Lead efforts in planning, design, architecture, execution, and the timely delivery of projects. Manage roadblocks and ensure projects stay on track.
- Proactively identify risks and obstacles that might impact the project or team, and work to mitigate them early.
- Motivate the team to continuously strive for excellence, encouraging an environment where they can perform at their best.
- Utilize your leadership skills to ensure adherence to engineering best practices and advocate for continuous improvements in productivity and software craftsmanship.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- B.Sc. in computer science/other relevant high education.
- Over 5 years of experience in leadership roles and team management.
- Over 7 years of experience in application and services development using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Lombok (Java), Spring Data.
- Experience working with Relational and No-SQL databases (e.g. Cosmos, Redis, Postgres etc.).
- Problem solver, Creative thinker, Independent.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong opinion about what makes an excellent navigation experience.
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in ReactJS, Redux, Redux toolkit (RTK), Redux toolkit query (RTKQ) and Vite.
- Experience working with Kubernetes, Dockers.
