Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Podium, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:
Sales Operations enables the sales organization by providing the tools, data, and resources necessary to drive business success. This team is accountable for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned sales organization and actively maintains high levels of quality, accuracy, and consistency in sales planning and reporting. We're hiring for an Associate Product Manager four our hybrid role that combines operational execution with product management responsibilities.

The role will manage daily operational activities within their assigned process areas, ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive-with a passion for solving problems, optimizing processes, and collaborating across cross-functional teams. This role plays a key part in maintaining daily operational excellence while also driving forward-looking product initiatives in an Agile environment. This role demands creativity, perception, and initiative, with a significant degree of independent decision-making. In addition to operational duties, the Associate Product Manager will contribute to product management efforts-supporting the creation of the product roadmap and vision and driving development and enhancements for the Global Sales Reporting and Dealer Foundation system landscape.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Operational Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day operations and data maintenance tasks within assigned process areas.
  • Create and distribute sales reports (daily, monthly, quarterly) through a mix of automated and manual processes.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems; perform data reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update system tables and databases (e.g., geography structures, vehicle models, aggregation rules).
  • Use Microsoft Excel to reformat and load incoming data files into required system formats.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests, including executive summaries and CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) reports.
  • Conduct data audits and monitor data quality across sales reporting systems.
  • Manage reporting schedules, ensuring reports are accurate, approved, and delivered on time.
  • Adhere to GM's data retention and security policies in managing report artifacts.
  • Document and update desk procedures and workflows; identify and propose process improvements.
  • Process user access requests and support end-user training for reporting systems and tools.

Product Management Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Roadmap: Support the creation of product vision and long-term plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Backlog Management: Build and maintain a prioritized product backlog that reflects business needs and user feedback.
  • Feature Development: Write detailed, actionable feature requirements with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
  • Agile Execution: Collaborate with development teams on sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews.
  • Release Planning: Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT); develop test plans and validate that releases meet quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, IT, and operations teams to gather input and ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Integrate user feedback and performance metrics to drive product enhancements.
  • KPI Monitoring: Define and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate product impact and success.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the product development cycle.
  • Data Analytics: Use analytics and data science techniques to analyze trends and guide product decisions.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, IT, Data Science, or related area
  • 3+ years in a fast-paced operational business environment
  • 2+ years of experience in as a product manager (or related roles)
  • Proficiency in data analytics, Excel, SQL, Power BI and/or similar tools for data visualization.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas and requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Agile best practices.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, data modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with project management methods
  • IT experience in any capacity is a plus
