Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Philippines office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The Analyst of US Customs Value Reconciliation is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of declared customs value of imported goods into the United States. This role involves reconciling transactional data, identifying discrepancies, and working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve valuation issues in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border (CBP) regulations. analyst will support audits, assist in duty recovery efforts and maintain
documentation to ensure compliance to trade laws.
What You'll Do
- Review and reconcile declared customs values against purchase orders, invoices and other supporting documents.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in declared values, including assists and other dutiable charges.
- Ensure compliance with Custom Boarder and Protection (CBP) valuation methodologies
- Analyze import data to detect potential valuation errors or missed duty savings opportunities
- Prepare reports on reconciliation, findings, trends and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of reconciliation activities for audit purposes
- Reconcile all Customs Service Provider (CSP) entities mainly Thailand, Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Basic on title 19 - Customs (US Code of) - additionally, continue to attend trainings on these topics to remain adequately informed and knowledgeable
- Able quickly learn and navigate on various GM Systems used in US Customs Value Reconciliation mainly TMSII and Cognos and other sources knowledge necessary for the role - employee must be willing to continuously learn the GM systems landscape and functionality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency in customs valuation.
- Assist or lead in implementing automation tools or system updates for efficiency of the process.
- US Custom Valuation Knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex trade regulation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in international Trade, Customs, Accounting or related field
- 2+ years in trade compliance, customs brokerage or import/export operations.
- Familiarity with U.S. customs valuation, experience with GM Customs tools and systems
- Possess a very high level of integrity - ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information
- Flexible to work on mid-shift, holidays and weekends when required. Occasional overtime during peak periods.
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate US Time zone. Can start 10AM/12PM
