Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Japan Headquarter office in Tokyo, Japan full time.
The Role -
Responsible for battery product development and service engineering / quality assurance of ACDelco products; Support corporate activity on ACDelco products, including purchasing and engineering of battery.
What You'll Do -
- Product development
- Coordinate product development for new battery lines and maintenance of existing batteries. Responsible for all phases of development, from researching and defining product line requirements to preparing support materials and promotions for launch.
- Support activities of Product Manager in charge of other Wholesale Distributors (WDs)
- Quality
- Primary focus on supporting battery customers through technical education and product feedback
- Secondary focus on supporting customers on all other product lines education and product feedback
- Support activities of product & quality engineer to monitor battery quality
- Conduct battery product training
- Support warranty and claim analysis and reporting
- Conduct monthly battery teardown analysis and reporting to Wholesale Distributers (WDs) and suppliers.
- Handling the customer inquiries coming from WDs and ACDelco call center
- Maintain and update of battery related contents in ACDelco official website.
- Support to purchasing & engineering
- Involved in preliminary study of new products ie battery in terms of sourcing selection. Work with purchasing and engineering department.
- Support developing engineering requirement to new products.

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Business English/Japanese language capability (speaking and writing).
- Driving License.
- Solid understanding of 12v lead battery.
- 5+years working experience in quality assurance or product development at lead battery manufacturers.
- Experience working at a Japanese automotive company or importer is preferred.
- Automotive technician certification is preferred.
- Computer literate in Windows applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Access preferable).
