The Role:
The Business Analyst will play a critical role in driving the performance and growth of the OnStar subscription business by providing data, insights, and tools that informs strategic business decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Revenue Operations, EDAI, Sales, Go-to-Market, and other teams to ensure the highest levels of accuracy, quality, and actionable insights in our business performance data and reporting.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), uncovering insights, and identifying opportunities for growth and performance optimization for both the OnStar Retail and Fleet businesses. Using a blend of strategic thinking, data analytics, and a focus on KPIs such as revenue, subscription volume, attach rate, churn, and average subscription revenue, you will help lead the strategy, execution, and monitoring of business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of the OnStar digital subscription business KPIs, customer behaviors, products, and sales channels
  • Work with stakeholder teams to gain and understanding of the business and provide data insights and analysis on various business growth initiatives, including new business opportunities and strategy development exercises
  • Write queries and analyze data to identify growth opportunities, focusing on acquisition, retention, and churn mitigation strategies to drive improved subscription performance.
  • Proactively provide actionable recommendations through data-driven analysis to optimize revenue and profitability.
  • Deliver clear, impactful presentations to communicate business performance insights, key initiatives, and recommendations for action.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across various teams and organizational levels.
  • Produce and prepare specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecards for business and leadership presentations, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience.
  • Communicate complex business insights effectively, making them understandable and actionable for all relevant parties.
  • Monitor and track the progress of key business initiatives and provide recommendations to improve execution and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or in 3rd or 4th year of study in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or pursuing a master's degree
  • Available for a 12-month term
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other programming languages, as well as BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Data Bricks.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and deliver creative, actionable solutions.
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and a keen ability to problem-solve in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (for data analysis) and PowerPoint (for impactful presentations).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the digital and/or technology space strongly desired, including the understanding of subscription business models.
