The Role
We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated AI Engineer Co-op to join our team and help design, build, and deploy AI-driven applications that transform the way we operate. The successful candidate will work on end-to-end AI solutions - from prototyping to production - while gaining hands-on experience across front-end, back-end, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI applications, including:
- Front end: Streamlit and React user interfaces.
- Back end: Azure-based APIs, Databricks pipelines, and scalable microservices.
- Leverage a broad range of AI platforms and tools (e.g., Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex AI, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, LangChain, Hugging Face, and other open-source frameworks) to build, deploy, and optimize models.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations for model training and inference.
- Work closely with data scientists, product owners, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Support DevOps/MLOps processes such as CI/CD workflows, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and model deployment.
- Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and knowledge sharing across the AI team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML, or related field.
- Eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada, and for 12-months term starting Jan 2026
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Streamlit) and RESTful API development.
- Understanding of cloud services (Azure preferred; GCP/AWS a plus).
- Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts: ETL pipelines, SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new tools quickly.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Knowledge of MLOps tools (MLflow, DVC, GitHub Actions, Terraform).
- Familiarity with modern AI application architectures (vector databases, embeddings, API orchestration).
