Job Description

We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Systems Engineer Senior Advisor. As part of our deployment information technology team, you will support development teams by ensuring secure, scalable, and governed development using low-code and no-code platforms. This role will focus on securing internal assets, configuring permissions, enforcing role-based access, and integrating identity and compliance controls. You will accelerate digital transformations by creating secure, compliant solutions with minimal custom code development.

  • Taking a leadership role in designing, building, and automating necessary tools and applications
  • Mentoring citizen developers in using low-code tools
  • Enforce standards to maintain consistency and security across all solutions
  • Maturing the automation efforts of the development lifecycle
  • Automate and optimize service deployments to reduce manual effort and error
  • Integrate with enterprise authentication services
  • Ensuring code meets organizational standards and issues are caught early

Systems Engineer Senior Advisor Expert Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop business applications and workflow automations using low-code/no-code platforms
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into configurable components like forms, dashboards, and automated workflows
  • Ensure solutions meet user needs while adhering to government security and data handling policies
  • Integrate low-code applications with various data sources and APIs
  • Manage credentials and permissions through Azure Key Vault or secure parameter storage
  • Implement governance and lifecycle management for low-code solutions
  • Use controlled DevOps pipelines or migration processes to promote Power Apps and Flows from development to production in the Azure Gov tenant
  • Ensure all low-code solutions comply with FedRAMP and agency security guidelines
  • Troubleshoot issues in deployed apps or flows
  • Leverage platform support and log diagnostics to pinpoint connector problems, and provide timely fixes to maintain business continuity
  • Provides user training and documentation for solutions
  • Mentor citizen developers on using low-code tools
  • Enforce standards to maintain consistency and security across all solutions

Systems Engineer Senior Advisor Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years and bachelor’s degree in computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • 3+ years of experience building custom container images and platforms
  • Experience with SharePoint, Azure SQL or Dynamics 365
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes
  • Understanding of Python, Bash or other scripting languages to automate builds
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence
  • Secret Clearance to start
     

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience using version control tools such as GIT
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate
  • Advanced experience using SonarQube
  • Advanced experience using PowerShell
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages, specifically YAML, Python, Bash, and/or Ruby
  • Advanced knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible or Salt
  • Advanced experience using infrastructure as code, specifically managing Salt or Ansible
  • Knowledge of Operator Framework and how operators are deployed

Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant experience
    • * may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree
  • Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams
  • Experience working in Federal or State government environments
  • Ability to work independently and remotely

Certification: Security+

The likely salary range for this position is $128,350 - $173,650. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
