Senior Manager, Design

GEICO is looking for an accomplished, customer - obsessed, and results - oriented Sr. Manager of Design to lead in our Claims ecosystem . The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a variety of product , tech and business partners to deliver strategic outcomes. The selected candidate will lead a small design team and mentor design peers and practitioners. Collaboration is pivotal to this role - you will work with a variety of teams and stakeholders to determine the design & product vision a s well as support developing the research curriculum . You will work with the team to create prototypes & mockups, user journeys & service blueprints , a s well as other foundational artifacts . This candidate will be comfortable providing continuous feedback while leveraging the empathy to iteration design model to create near-term and long-term success.

This position is a hybrid role, and it is required to be on-site 3 days a week at one of the following locations: Chevy Chase MD, Fredericksburg VA, San Jose/San Francisco CA, Chicago IL, Seattle WA, New York NY, Indianapolis IN , Kansas City MO, Dallas TX

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across disciplines (product, tech, design) and business units to bring together a complete ecosystem view for the future of Claims .
  • Translate complex ideas and customer data into insights that can inform concept development & product strategy.
  • Manage shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization while also supporting early product definition.
  • Advocate for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, and user testing.
  • Communicate through visual storytelling to share discoveries, influence stakeholders , and create energy around concepts and initiative s .
  • Facilitate and participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align experience and business needs.
  • Drive end-to-end product design by framing problems, surfacing insights, and designing new frameworks and practices that address customer needs.
  • Create process maps , user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models.
  • Deliver design assets for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with engineering.
  • Teach , mentor and guide designers.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience with User Experience design
  • 3+ years leading and mentoring design teams
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience designing for cross - channel experiences.
  • Use of effective communication and storytelling skills to align internal partners and leadership on a shared vision.
  • Proficiency with design tools (i.e., Figma, FigJam ) to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teams.
  • Familiarity working with an established design system .
  • Comfort able managing complex ecosystems and multiple workstreams.
Annual Salary
$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
