Senior Director, Engineering - Collaboration and Productivity

This role is part of Enterprise Engineering. We are looking for a leader that has experience in productivity & collaboration toolset. Responsibilities include domain expertise with O365, audio, web conferencing, messaging tooling. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated track record and experience scaling and growing teams. Demonstrated experience in navigating large complex enterprise and managing multiple stakeholders while driving improved associate experiences. Proven experience in leading large scale implementations of productivity and collaboration hardware and software needs across multiple office locations.

Overview: GEICO is on a multi-year journey to re-platform the Insurance industry, removing friction across Customers, Partners, Marketplace, Segments, Channels, and Experiences. The enterprise engineering team is at the heart of accomplishing this mission, building enterprise capabilities - from Mobility systems, Productivity Platforms, Collaboration tools, Billing & Payments Platforms to ERP systems for Enterprise Financials and Human Capital Management that enable the company to accelerate efficiency of internal operations.

We are hiring functional leaders to scale the productivity and collaboration engineering leadership organization. This team enables the success of the company by embodying a service-oriented approach and prides themselves in developing the best associate experience.

We are looking for technically conversant leader with a decade plus of software engineering experience and brings deep knowledge of how to enable best-in-class IT productivity and collaboration tooling at scale for 40,000+ associates.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience implementing Technology solutions at scale.
  • Develop and own relationships with your enterprise partners, engineering, marketing, and product management.
  • Grow the team over the coming year by advocating for additional resourcing and hiring into new open positions.
  • Present the vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of data fluency.
  • Manage and prioritize requests from partners and set realistic expectations. Transparently communicate about priorities on a regular basis.
  • Enhance the team's abilities to report on performance, focus on impact, and provide transparency about critical workstreams.
  • A creative and innovative problem solver and storyteller with data, comfortable with helping partners think and solve difficult business challenges.
  • You thrive on partnership and can build the bridge between the requirements of the business and help the business reach their goals.
  • Have experience building data platforms that enable data producing teams to share data with data consuming teams efficiently and at scale.
  • Have experience creating analytical data sets and data warehouses that enable self-service access to KPIs and metrics.
  • Have consistently coached different engineering roles (e.g. data engineers, software developers, business intelligence, etc.) of your teams and growing leadership (managers and senior individual contributors) on your teams throughout your career.

Annual Salary
$195,000.00 - $315,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
