Job Description Summary

The Performance and System integration Engineer is an exciting opportunity to join the Preliminary Design team within the Advanced Systems Design & Technology section.
The team deals with the definition of propulsion system architectures together with their integration in future aircraft for new customer applications and within research and technology development programs.

In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of technologies from conventional to hybrid-electric and Hydrogen propulsion.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Execute and lead trade studies of propulsion system architecture configurations, together with their installation on aircraft and eventual system performance
  • Interface with internal and externa customers to specify system requirements and flow down to the different teams
  • Define and manage the scope of activities and plan for the execution of technical activities to evaluate the system design
  • Act as integrator of different output from disciplines (mechanical, aerothermal, controls, ...) within the company supporting internal and external stakeholders reviews
  • Execute performance and installation analyses for new propulsion system architectures and how they would impact the aircraft application
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary project teams providing technical leadership
  • Contribute to the definition of the required technologies and maturation roadmap for the successful introduction of novel concepts
  • Lead or support technical and program reviews
  • Present the results and findings to wide audiences from technical experts to executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with best practices and processes
  • Ensure proper documentation of all work

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Aeronautical preferred
  • Significant experience in aviation gas turbine engines and their integration/installation on aircraft
  • Knowledge of aerothermal technologies and simulation environments
  • Propulsion system and aircraft requirements management experience
  • Experience in Product Development of complex products/systems in very early phases from conceptual level through New Product Introduction phase
  • Familiarity with Research and Technology development processes
  • Fluency in English
  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in several of technical disciplines related to airborne propulsion systems, different gas turbine modules/disciplines and engine performance
  • Experience in systems engineering
  • Passionate about Aviation products and innovation
  • Practical knowledge of sustainability-driven technologies for aviation (hybrid-electric systems, Hydrogen, SAF, ...)
  • Experience in product growth strategies and advanced technologies
  • Can do attitude capable to manage uncertainty and changing environments
