The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies. Requires ability to perform process improvements and develop improvement strategies.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment for specialized processes
  • Facilitate and drive process improvements to meet business metrics
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
  • Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations
  • Works together with business leadership at SPB and EB level
  • Works together with shop operators and programing technicians
  • Specifies needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done
  • Delivers products as part of a team
  • Works on cross functional teams
  • Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
  • 3 years of Manufacturing experience

  • Prior experience with conventional machining CNC programming
  • Experience in 5-axis compressor airfoil programming utilizing Concepts NREC & Siemens Unigraphics
  • Machining of Blisks & Blisk airfoils in multiple materials, sizes, and configurations
  • NC program optimization with Thirdwave, MachPro, or other toolpath optimization software
  • Experience programming and operating Siemens & Fanuc controls
  • History of mentoring new/less experienced engineers in 5-axis compressor airfoil milling
  • Coding experience with Java, Python, C++, or other programming languages
