The Module Leader will be responsible for the mechanical design and system integration of the Fan Bypass module on the GE Passport product. This is an experienced role with a focus on lifecycle leadership of composite and structural hardware. The Passport 20 engine powers the aircraft holding the New York to Los Angeles business jet speed record.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead advanced projects. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
- This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day fluid conversation in English on any topic.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering related field (aeronautical, mechanical, automotive).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple field and manufacturing projects simultaneously across functions.
- Experience leading presentations of field issues to senior leadership and external customers.
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
- Previous experience in aerospace industry, MROs, airlines or military aviation.
- Master's degree in engineering related field (aeronautical, mechanical, automotive).
- Knowledge of aerospace products certification process.
