Job Description Summary

Summary
As one of the largest of GE Aviation's nearly 80 supply chain operations worldwide, the Hooksett, NH facility employs nearly 900 workers specializing in high-technology machining and manufacturing operations to support GE's aircraft engine business. The components produced at the Hooksett facility can be found on nearly every engine we currently produce from the GE90 -- the world's largest, most powerful jet engine -- to the CFM Leap - the world's fastest selling engine - to the T700, which powers more than 6,300 military helicopters.

We are currently looking for ambitious and energetic candidates to work full time in a variety of positions across our facility, including machining, tooling, fabrication, welding, maintenance, and more!

Our open positions are for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift with the starting rate for entry-level roles at $27.59/hour until July 1st, at which point starting wage becomes $29.25/hr.(an additional $1/hour shift differential included for 2nd and 3rd shifts).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

While we have a wide variety of open positions, some of the job tasks may include:

  • Work with and interpret drawings, schematics, and other specifications
  • Use associated tools, measuring and testing equipment
  • Devise, develop, and recommend new designs and/or modify existing designs to meet manufacturing, engineering, or customer requirements
  • Responsible for design and development of complicated test equipment, dies, tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
  • Set up and operate a variety of conventional and/or numerically controlled precision machine tools/equipment, including fabrication machine tools, to produce hardware that meets close tolerance limitations
  • Perform basic to intermediate-level using precision gages/fixtures and inspection measuring equipment and interpreting fabrication blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications and drawings, etc., to determine set-ups and operations necessary to complete job tasks
  • Perform related environmental, health, safety, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, and production-flow job duties to support plant machinery, equipment, and manufacturing-related initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain detailed job task documentation, reports, and records
  • Starting wage is $27.59 until July 1st, at which point starting wage becomes $29.25.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates could include:

  • Entry-level employees with a passion for manufacturing and/or fabrication and with a great attitude
  • Upcoming and graduated students with degrees in a technically-related field such as engineering or a skilled trade
  • 1-5- year experienced professionals who are looking to grow their career with an international company!

Desirable Characteristics

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices on a continuous improvement team
  • Highly motivated, passionate, and with exceptional communications skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with EH&S processes & procedures, as well as Lean manufacturing principles is a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or web based program

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
