The Combustion CFD Specialist Engineer will be leading combustion CFD studies in support to the design of new Combustion Architecture as well as new technologies maturation.
You will report to the ATO Combustion Sub-Section Manager within the Advanced Technology Organisation.

In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage moderate complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Essential responsibilities will be:

  • Executing and drive CFD based analysis (from initial requirements capture to building the CFD model, running the simulations and post-processing the results) of gas turbine combustion systems, development rig and engine test campaigns, planning, monitoring, data reduction and verification, validation.
  • Execute & lead combustion aero design CFD - 2D/3D analysis, 1D flow, evaluating and propose new solutions to meet design CTQ's.
  • Detailed Aerodynamic CFD analysis, design, and test functions required to define components, assemblies, and systems that meet program and product requirements
  • Domain expertise in development of engineering tools to perform aerodynamic evaluations
  • Successful planning and execution of test programs
  • Compliant communications of aero technical data
  • Basic technical implications of business CTQ's
  • Lean/Six Sigma

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering from and accredited University; Aerospace/Mechanical preferred
  • Sound experience in an engineering function in execution of combustion aerodynamics or aero thermal design/analysis/testing/validation
  • Knowledge of the principal CFD-analysis tools
  • Technical aptitude in combustion science, experimental testing and large data processing
  • Fluency in Italian and English
  • Ability to work independently
  • Clear thinker and effective problem solver
  • Work VISA, according to local regulation, is required
